Stallingborough Grange Hotel

Building Link Design have been commissioned by GS Kelsey contractors in Scunthorpe to assist them with the design of a new events and conferencing building for Stallingborough Grange Hotel in North East Lincolnshire.

The client brief was for a stand-alone building within the grounds of the existing hotel to provide new conferencing and events facilities, particularly catering for their well established wedding market. The hotels aspirations were for a Georgian Style Orangery with large scale glazing which will give their guests a strong connection between internal and external spaces.

The function room has been designed with moveable partitions to allow for the building to be used by one function, for example a wedding or for smaller conference groups. The repetition of the large scale window fenestration means that doors can be incorporated with ease along the building so that its use can be as flexible as possible.

The new building’s position within the hotel site gives views across the existing patio and pond area to the South East of the building whilst to the front, new areas of landscaping have been designed to provide break-out space and garden landscapes for the guests to enjoy.

With a planning application submitted for the project in April 2017, we hope to see this project coming into fruition in 2018.
