Building Link Design were approached by The Hall Construction Group to assist in value engineering the design for the construction of 13 industrial units at First Point Business Park, Doncaster. Employed by Hall Construction after a successful tender process, Building Link Design saw the production of detailed Building Regulations and construction information for the development of this £4.3 Million project.

The scheme required extensive ground stabalisation works to prepare the site for this substantial development, providing modern industrial and commercial units within a rapidly developing area. The units range from 1,157m² incorporating 2 storey offices and amenity space to a 188m² small workshops also including office and amenity space. The project includes four larger units, each of them providing a secure yard area suitable for large vehicles.

Each of the buildings incorporate modern construction materials and utilise brick, composite and trapezoidal cladding along with Trespa rainscreen cladding to the office areas. The design also includes fully insulated structures and each building is fitted with a significant number of Photo Voltaic panels. These aspects were successful in achieving the European funding requirements of the project and therefore achieved a BREEAM ‘Good’ rating. This particular development also meets the local and national requirements for energy performance and CO² emission reductions and sustainability.

Working closely with the main Contractor and the rest of the design team, work started on site in January 2015 and was effectively completed in December 2015.
